It's so hard to watch these, but it's even harder not to. For some reason I'm absolutely fascinated with ALS - largely I think because I cannot comprehend how one deals with the knowledge that one is about to die. Tim LaFollette, who recently died, was an amazing man. And his support team, The Often Awesome Army, is just incredible.

My neighbour (in his 50s) has retired early due to a genetic condition. His hearing has failed, he's going blind and after that I believe systemic degeneration follows. He's always cheerful and active. Amazing.
