Perhaps the guide was fine but the freezing, pitch black, conditions not :)

Still sounds like a guide issue to me. Any respectable guide would have strongly advised against going there in winter and instead urged you to visit during summer (which is three days towards end of July)

Good point. Midsommar would have made for a smoother adjustment. Oh well.

To be honest, it's not very far from the truth actually. Pike is NEVER eaten raw though. The pike you give to the cats. That's the only mistake I can spot :)
