Neighborhood Fruit is a new concept that shows people in San Fransisco (so far) where there are fruit trees on public lands. Their mission is to make use of the abundant fruit growing in urban neighbourhoods, rather than let it go to waste.
"We envision a different future, where the bulk of backyard fruit is utilized and shared between neighbors. We envision a future where the food we eat is truly fresh, seasonal and local."

I envisage denuded fruit trees and burgeoning farmers market stalls. There's occasionally an upside to general ignorance and it includes serndipity.

I love it! I wonder if there are even any fruit trees left in Sydney's public spaces?

Unlikely sadly, methinks. Let's plant some.
